Code Coach and Code Assistants required for expanding business

Suitable for [but not limited to] Primary School TA / Teacher / Tutor / Computing Student / Data Handling Student / Software Programming Student / T-Levels Students within Childcare and/or Computing areas of study

South Staffordshire & Wolverhampton £15 – £25 per hour

£112.50 – £187.50 per week

Part-time – 7.5 hours + during term-time, but will also be able to offer up to 20 hours per week during school holidays for the right candidates, which would be a great opportunity for school TAs or students to earn some income during the school holidays (£300 – £500 per week)

Jam Coding runs Computing Workshops in primary schools across Wolverhampton and South Staffordshire.

We are a rapidly growing company and regularly need to add to our team.

The ideal computing assistant will have:

  • A positive attitude to helping young people succeed through teamwork, confidence-building and exploration.
  • A desire to work with children
  • A sound general knowledge of IT, although training will be given
  • A driving licence and access to own car or access to reliable public transport
  • Excellent communication skills and be well organised and punctual.
  • You will need a current DBS to work within this job role, which can be ascertained on behalf of the successful candidates. You do NOT need a specific Teaching Assistant/Teaching qualification to take on this role, however, some educational/ school-based experience will be advantageous.

The role involves leading or assisting in primary-school computing sessions. Training will be given. This role will provide a very good experience for anyone thinking about pursuing a career as a teacher or teaching assistant and is ideal for students doing Education or Technology based T-Level courses, enabling hands on training with good rates of pay.

This is a part-time role, currently 7.5 hours a week, although we are looking to increase these working hours soon. Hours are currently term-time only, but there will be more hours available during school holidays for the right candidates.

There is some flexibility in the specific hours worked, but you will need to be available Monday to Friday from 3-4:45pm during term time only at present, with more hours available in the future.
